There was a question in my cricut freebies facebook group the other day on how to clean cricut mats and make them sticky again.

It s important to not make the edges sticky so they won t ruin the cutting machine.
Next you will want to remove the old adhesive using an adhesive remover spray.
This will make it less likely for problems to occur when placing your mat in your silhouette cameo.
Not suitable for children under 10 years of age.
Apply plain rubbing alcohol or goo gone on the surface then go over it with a scrapper.
Step 1 remove any remaining stickiness to ensure the adhesive spray will evenly coat the mat.
Unlike adhesive removers there are huge numbers of sticky sprays on the market that will be suitable for resticking your cutting mat.
Not all of them were created equal however so we ve picked out ones that we ve used and can recommend as well as a few that our crafting peers like as well.

I tend to get more questions about cricut mats in particular but this guide will apply to any sort of similar cutting mat with an adhesive including silhouette mats.
You will need an area around the outside that is not sticky.
